Hi, I am Heidi Forland-Fetty.
I am the head paralegal for Mission Counsel. I joined Terry in June 2020 and am excited to help expand the firm. I have strong interests in nonprofit, contract, business, real estate, and intellectual property law.
Growing up in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area, I was blessed with many opportunities for success as well as ways to give back in the community.
At Kansas State University I cultivated my passion for learning and helping others. The summer after my freshman year, I studied abroad and partook in volunteer work with impoverished children in Ecuador. While at K-State, I held leadership roles on both the marketing and recruitment teams of my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. Through my sorority’s philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness, I was able to aid women and children at the local crisis shelter. Additionally, for two years of my collegiate career, I was the president of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Studies Honor Society. This position allowed me to participate in several big charity events, including the K-State Dance Marathon benefitting the Children’s Miracle Network and a canned food drive for victims of Hurricane Harvey. My interest in the law really developed during my senior year when I conducted a research project on restorative justice in higher education.
After graduation from K-State, I worked as a high-end nanny while planning my wedding and taking classes to become a paralegal. During the school year, I assisted my high school’s competitive speech and debate program by coaching and judging at tournaments. In the summers, I helped with music and crafts at Royal Family Kids Camp, a summer camp for children in foster care. In May 2020, I completed the ABA-approved paralegal program at Johnson County Community College. I am currently a member of the Kansas Paralegal Association and the National Federation of Paralegal Associates.
Outside the Office
When I am not at my desk, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and neighbors. My favorite things to do with friends are play board games and watch movies. I love walking my dogs, thrift store shopping, and traveling.
